Building Something Beautiful From Scratch

Building Something Beautiful From Scratch

There's something deeply satisfying about building something from the ground up. As I work through my growing to-do list—surrounded by the hum of equipment in the studio—I'm reminded of how much I genuinely love what I do.

The website has been a significant undertaking, and I'm grateful for the guidance I received from Brooke at Teach Over the Rainbow. Her expertise and encouragement made a real difference in how I approach this platform. I'm now much more confident navigating the technical side of things, and I'm already thinking about ways to expand the site's functionality. A calendar showcasing upcoming events and studio offerings is on the horizon, which should make it easier for customers to stay connected with what's happening here.

On the equipment front, I've invested considerable time in mastering the direct-to-film printer. Learning proper maintenance and troubleshooting has been invaluable—especially when I recently resolved a waste ink counter error entirely on my own during show preparation. It's those small victories that build confidence.

I've also recently added a laser engraver to the studio, which has been both exciting and humbling. The learning curve is steeper, and yes, fire safety is definitely on my mind. So far, so good. I've completed several projects and even created a custom sign for the craft shows I've been participating in.

Progress may feel incremental at times, but it's undeniably happening. Each step forward brings RCG Crafts closer to where I envision it. Thank you for being part of this journey.
